Before the album was released, it was pretty safe to say that Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Buttefly would be great based off opinions of those who had already heard the project.  Now Metacritic has given the album a rating of 95/100, tying the rating Outkast received for their Stankonia album (which previously held the record).  Now, as a lot of you are probably thinking that that’s just the rating from one site, Metacritic has for years been used as one of, if not the, most reliable sites for reviews. With Kendrick’s score of 95/100 he’s passed some other notable albums, including Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which received a rating of 94/100 from the site. It is now becoming more reasonable to call To Pimp A Buttefly another early classic with the success it has endured already.
